Created in 1948, the Montreal Silver Blades Figure Skating Club
is a skating club for adults 18 years and older of any technical
level (beginner to advanced).
Every Friday nights, group lessons are offered to
adults wanting to learn skating. The
CanSkate program is Canada's only national learn-to-skate program. It was
developed by experts to teach the fundamentals of skating in a progressive
and sequential manner. There are six stages of learning with an optional 7th level for skaters wishing to progress into figure skating or simply become better skaters.
Twice a week, there are ice dance sessions. Skaters can
learn various dance patterns. You
only need to know one dance in order to be allowed to
participate to those sessions. Finally, the club offers
once a week a skating session for people doing
freestyle and
skills.
Since 1992, the Montreal Silver Blades Figure Skating Club has organized every two years an ice dancing weekend. The Montreal Silver Blades Club is proud to organize the only ice dancing weekend in the Eastern part of Canada.
